Am primit destul de multe sugestii ( asta e cea mai proaspătă) cum că mai bine aş lăsa spam-ul deoparte, că sunt lucruri mai importante despre care se poate scrie. Am găsit însă nişte materiale foarte interesante care arată că nu e chiar aşa.

ICF este o companie care studiază modificările climatice şi  impactul nostru asupra mediului.

La un moment dat, s-au gândit să facă nişte măsurători legate de spam şi cu ajutorul celor de la McAfee au găsit nişte rezultate foarte interesante.

To determine the carbon footprint of spam, ICF, with the assistance of McAfee, calculated the  energy use associated with each stage in spam’s  life cycle, then applied the appropriate emissions  intensity to the total energy associated with spam  and spam filtering. The results demonstrate that  the average GHG emissions per spam message  total 0.3 grams of CO2-equivalent (CO2-e).

0.3 grame de CO2 pentru fiecare spam. Cam tot atâta emite şi o maşină mergând o distanţă de un metru.
